Sadiq Al-Harasi
As a Lie, As a Dream
This project reflects on what a “normal life” means after a decade of war in Yemen. Moving between personal memory and collective expectation, Sadiq Al-Harasi considers how conflict reshapes the imagined milestones of study, work, family and future, and how dreams themselves become altered under pressure. Drawing on the emotional turn in Jonathan Reed’s The Lost Generation, the work resists inherited pessimism and asks whether a different life can still be imagined. At its heart, it is a meditation on loss, endurance and the insistence on possibility even within rupture.

Bio
Sadiq Al-Harasi is a Yemeni emerging artist and independent cultural practitioner based in Denmark. Trained in architectural engineering, his photography-led practice moves through memory, identity, death, loss and belonging, often drawing on autobiographical approaches to challenge dominant social narratives. Working across media, he is particularly interested in the expressive power of the human form and its relationship to culture, place and lived experience. His work has been shown internationally, including at Peckham 24, Image Festival Amman, LagosPhoto Biennale and VAiF 25.
